Job Description
Research Manager analyzing asset-class data, portfolio performance, and investment managers. Supporting Mercer Advisors’ investment solutions, committee materials, policies, and regulatory documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Support Mercer Advisors’ Investment Management Group, which oversees and implements investment solutions across billable AUM
- Collect, analyze, and maintain asset class-level data and performance metrics, focusing on equity and fixed income ETFs, mutual funds, and SMAs
- Assist in designing and evaluating asset class investment frameworks, portfolios, and SMA strategies
- Assist with initial and ongoing due diligence of traditional, systematic, and quantitative investment managers and strategies
- Build, monitor, and refine tools for performance attribution and risk management with senior team members
- Draft, maintain, and update strategy memos incorporating due diligence questionnaires, manager engagement, and quantitative monitoring reports
- Prepare materials and analysis for the Investment Committee and sub-committees
- Contribute to capital markets research and educational content for internal stakeholders
- Support documentation and maintenance of departmental investment policies and procedures
- Assist with regulatory audits and internal documentation reviews
- Travel approximately 5–10%
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, computer science or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in investment research, portfolio analysis, or a related area
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and financial modeling
- Proficiency with Excel
- Experience with YCharts, FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar or similar tools is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid team environment
- Progress toward CFA or an advanced degree is a plus
