Job Description
Public Sector Sales Engineer architecting Zendesk’s AI-powered customer experience solutions for government agencies. Leading technical discovery, pilots, integrations, and ROI-driven sales engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical and business discovery sessions, AI readiness assessments, tailored demos, and proofs of value
- Translate AI/ML capabilities into business-focused narratives for audiences ranging from IT to the C-suite
- Own technical engagement throughout the sales cycle, from qualification and design through pilot execution
- Architect secure, scalable solutions using Zendesk APIs, middleware, telephony systems, and cloud platforms
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and other cross-functional teams
- Use analytics and AI performance metrics to demonstrate ROI and inform continuous improvement
- Drive AI adoption through value realization initiatives and promotion of new AI capabilities
- Build expertise in AI, automation, CX, and ES technologies and share market insights
Requirements:
- 5+ years of presales experience, including traditional Solutions Consulting or equivalent developer, customer engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Technical Account Manager experience
- Experience designing and executing customer pilots and proofs of concept
- Ability to conduct basic ROI discovery and use standardized TCO/ROI templates
- Understanding of AI technologies including LLMs, ChatGPT, NLP, and MCP automation frameworks
- Expertise in one or more of CCaaS, Customer Service software, ITSM, Business Intelligence, Workforce Management, or Integration & Middleware
- Strong analytical and storytelling abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills
- Working knowledge or awareness of Federal, State, Local, and Education compliance requirements is strongly desired, including HIPAA, CJIS, FERPA, or FedRAMP
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; graduate degree a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
Benefits:
- OTE range of $188,000.00-$282,000.00 with an 80/20 base/commission pay mix
- May be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives
