Job Description
Senior Accountant managing multi-entity accounting, reporting, audits, and ERP activities for Oyster’s global employment platform. Remote role focused on EMEA entities and statutory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day accounting, monthly reporting, and ERP activities for Oyster entities worldwide, with a focus on EMEA
- Manage full-cycle accounting and intercompany transactions for global subsidiaries
- Prepare and review financial statements and balance-sheet reconciliations across multiple entities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, maintaining checklists and documentation
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual local statutory filings and provide support packages
- Oversee local statutory audits and resolve auditor questions and adjustments
- Reconcile local statutory records to the ERP
- Conduct financial analysis, identify trends or discrepancies, and present decision-useful insights
- Own assigned ERP activities and improve accounting standards, controls, documentation, and automation
- Coordinate dependencies across Finance, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and external partners
- Execute ad hoc financial projects
- Support junior teammates with practical guidance
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year operating at senior-accountant scope
- CPA (or part-qualified) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Strong knowledge of multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, financial reporting, reconciliations, close, and audit support
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and manipulation of large datasets
- Meticulous attention to detail and a logical, evidence-based approach to problem solving
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and maintain quality across several entities
- Strong written and spoken English
- Effective stakeholder management in an asynchronous environment
- Proactive follow-through, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement and automation mindset
- Reliable home internet connection
- Authorization to work where you live
- NetSuite or comparable ERP experience, payroll accounting or SaaS experience, high-growth startup or rapidly changing international environment experience, and accounting across EMEA jurisdictions are bonus/nice-to-have qualifications
