Job Description

Senior Accountant managing LATAM and global entity accounting for Oyster’s global employment platform. Owning close, statutory filings, audits, reconciliations, ERP activities, and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day accounting, monthly reporting, and ERP activities for Oyster entities around the world, with a focus on LATAM coverage
  • Manage full-cycle accounting and intercompany transactions for global subsidiaries
  • Prepare and review financial statements and balance-sheet reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities, maintaining clear checklists and documentation
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual local statutory filings and provide complete support packages
  • Oversee local statutory audits and resolve auditor questions and adjustments
  • Reconcile local statutory records to the ERP
  • Conduct financial analysis, identify trends or discrepancies, and present decision-useful insights
  • Own assigned ERP activities and improve accounting standards, controls, documentation, and automation
  • Coordinate dependencies across Finance, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and external partners
  • Execute ad hoc financial projects
  • Support junior teammates with practical guidance
  • Work asynchronously with distributed global teams

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year operating at senior-accountant scope
  • CPA (or part-qualified) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Strong knowledge of multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, financial reporting, reconciliations, close, and audit support
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and manipulation of large datasets
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a logical, evidence-based approach to problem solving
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and maintain quality across several entities
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Effective stakeholder management in an asynchronous environment
  • Proactive follow-through, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement and automation mindset
  • Reliable home internet connection
  • NetSuite or comparable ERP experience
  • Payroll accounting or SaaS experience
  • High-growth startup or rapidly changing international environment experience
  • Accounting across EMEA jurisdictions, including local statutory reporting and local-to-group reconciliation
  • Legally authorized to work where you live
