Job Description
Senior Accountant owning Spanish GAAP accounting, closing, tax, and reporting for Leadtech’s high-growth app portfolio. Managing reconciliations, audits, controls, and process automation.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of accounting and close processes
- Manage and review month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts and investigate variances
- Perform and review bank reconciliations and monitor cash movements
- Ensure appropriate payment controls
- Review invoices, accruals and accounting entries for Accounts Payable
- Resolve payment discrepancies
- Monitor customer balances and invoicing processes for Accounts Receivable
- Maintain accurate customer records and consistency between CRM and ERP information
- Prepare intercompany reconciliations and resolve differences between group entities
- Support preparation and review of Spanish tax filings
- Maintain accounting records in accordance with Spanish GAAP and internal policies
- Support external audits and respond to auditors’ requests
- Support statutory financial statements and annual accounts preparation
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams on accurate, timely financial reporting
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance or similar roles
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
- Master in audit would be an advantage
- 1–2 years of previous experience in a Big 4 audit firm is highly valued but not mandatory
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and Spanish GAAP
- Solid understanding of financial statements, Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts
- Good knowledge of Spanish tax requirements
- Proven experience in month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, accruals and accounting reviews
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working with ERP systems and high digital literacy
- SAP experience would be highly valued
- Advanced level of English and Spanish, written and spoken
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound accounting judgments
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional and international environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be based in Spain or eligible to work in Spain (location listed as Spain)
