Job Description
Workers’ compensation defense attorney managing cases from inception through litigation and resolution. Advising insurers, employers, and administrators for a women-owned California law firm.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from inception to final resolution
- Handle all aspects of discovery and litigation
- Work closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators
- Work in a paperless environment using primarily digital documents
- Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Apply judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion
- Travel as required
Requirements:
- 2 to 5+ years of workers' compensation defense experience
- Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees
- Member of the State Bar of California, in good standing
- Superior research, analytical, and negotiating ability
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Commitment to proactive case management
- Experience in Merus or Litify is preferred but not required
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams preferred but not required
- Must submit a resume and cover letter
- Must pass a background check prior to the first day of employment
