Job Description
Senior Business Relationship Manager focusing on commercial real estate lending across British Columbia. Building and managing relationships while ensuring strong portfolio performance within established risk parameters.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a portfolio of commercial real estate development and construction lending relationships
- Originate and structure commercial real estate and syndicated lending opportunities
- Prepare credit recommendations through comprehensive financial, risk, and security analysis
- Manage the full lifecycle of a lending portfolio, including annual reviews, renewals, amendments, and ongoing relationship management
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively address risk issues
- Build relationships with developers, investors, centers of influence, and referral partners
- Collaborate across business lines to deliver integrated member solutions and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Support and mentor colleagues through knowledge sharing and best practice development.
Requirements:
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial lending experience focusing on real estate development and construction financing
- Strong experience in credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and structuring complex lending transactions
- Deep understanding of commercial real estate development lending, project risk assessment, and security evaluation
- Demonstrated business development experience with the ability to build strong relationships with members, referral partners, and centers of influence
- Strong knowledge of integrated financial solutions and ability to identify opportunities across business lines
- Proven expertise in commercial real estate financing and portfolio management
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
- Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues and serving as a trusted resource in commercial lending
- Experience with loan syndications and syndicated lending structures
- Experience with CMHC loan origination and loan servicing (considered an asset)
- The ability to balance growth objectives with sound risk management practices.
