Job Description
Senior Data Engineer with strong background in data engineering and Google Cloud Platform services. Building data pipelines and collaborating with teams to transform industries.
Responsibilities:
- Build and support non-interactive and real-time data pipelines
- Create fault-tolerant, self-healing, and highly accurate data computational pipelines
- Lead implementation of complex programs
- Maintain documentation relating to assigned systems and projects
- Tune queries over billions of rows of data in a distributed query engine
- Perform root cause analysis for software or business process issues
- Implement and maintain dbt transformation models and data contracts
- Monitor data quality gates and freshness SLOs
- Optimize BigQuery cost and performance using query tuning and storage design
Requirements:
- Strong expertise in Python for building data pipelines, processing tasks, and automation
- Advanced SQL capabilities (nested fields, analytic functions)
- Hands-on experience with Core GCP Data Stack including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub
- Advanced proficiency in LookML and dashboard creation in Looker
- Ability to independently own workstreams while collaborating closely with data science, analytics, and engineering peers in agile delivery
- Advanced English skills
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field is a plus
