Job Description

Senior Cost Estimator preparing complex transportation infrastructure cost estimates for Egis. Reviewing consultant bids, supporting constructability reviews, and negotiating changes and claims.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates at the preliminary, intermediate, final, and release-for-construction stages of design
  • Review estimates prepared by consultants and contractors
  • Prepare cost estimates for analyzing value engineering studies
  • Assist in constructability reviews
  • Support negotiations for settling contract change modifications and potential claims
  • Collaborate with technical specialists across North America and around the world
  • Contribute to transportation, aviation, rail, transit, water, structural, environmental, and infrastructure projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor‘s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 10 or more years of estimating experience
  • Diversified experience in transportation projects with emphasis on rail, highway and aviation
  • Transit agency owner costs experience preferred
  • Experience with estimating software, with HCSS Heavybid preferred
  • Professional Certifications preferred
  • Familiarity with FTA (Federal Transit Administration) guidelines and funding requirements
  • Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar tools, and Agtek
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM/GC, and PDB
  • Strong understanding of transit project components and systems
