Job Description
Senior Cost Estimator preparing complex transportation infrastructure cost estimates for Egis. Reviewing consultant bids, supporting constructability reviews, and negotiating changes and claims.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates at the preliminary, intermediate, final, and release-for-construction stages of design
- Review estimates prepared by consultants and contractors
- Prepare cost estimates for analyzing value engineering studies
- Assist in constructability reviews
- Support negotiations for settling contract change modifications and potential claims
- Collaborate with technical specialists across North America and around the world
- Contribute to transportation, aviation, rail, transit, water, structural, environmental, and infrastructure projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor‘s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 10 or more years of estimating experience
- Diversified experience in transportation projects with emphasis on rail, highway and aviation
- Transit agency owner costs experience preferred
- Experience with estimating software, with HCSS Heavybid preferred
- Professional Certifications preferred
- Familiarity with FTA (Federal Transit Administration) guidelines and funding requirements
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar tools, and Agtek
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
- Strong understanding of project delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM/GC, and PDB
- Strong understanding of transit project components and systems
