Job Description
Senior DevOps Engineer responsible for managing infrastructure and supporting software development at Oivan in Egypt. Collaborating with teams to improve systems and processes for cloud-native applications.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the end-to-end operations of the products owned by your team.
- Collaborate with a product manager and engineering teams to identify the right problem to solve.
- Shape the architecture, and technology choices and develop infrastructure products.
- Support other engineers who use your team’s products, participate in on-call, and troubleshoot production incidents.
- Collaborate closely with experienced and motivated colleagues, to make it a great team, provide innovative automation tools, and create value for Oivan and our clients!
- Works with cloud providers and external technical support on upgrades, design issues, and problem resolution.
- Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance.
- Document procedures, and architectural designs.
- Monitors task automation and implements process improvements; recommends enhancements that result in increased quality and service.
Requirements:
- Appreciation for Infrastructure as Code, Pipeline as Code, Continuous Delivery, and the Accelerate metrics.
- Experience with IaaS cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. (Ideally with AWS)
- Strong familiarity with SRE and/or DevOps principles, architecture design patterns, and experience using them
- Familiarity with core IaaS concepts such as computing, storage, networking, identity management, etc.
- Knowledge of observability concepts.
- Experience with monitoring technologies such as AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, OpsGenie, and NewRelic
- Expert in one or more scripting languages used in DevOps (Python, Ruby, etc.)
- Familiarity with event messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, SNS, SQS
- Problem solving and collaboration skills.
- CI/CD solutions such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- 4+ years of applicable work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
