Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer leading electrical design reviews, BIM coordination, and remote construction support for AtkinsRéalis UAE infrastructure projects. Managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with international standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the electrical engineering team to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
- Review and verify electrical designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and equipment schedules.
- Conduct technical reviews of power distribution, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, ELV interfaces, and other electrical infrastructure.
- Evaluate and approve electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and vendor documentation.
- Review load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, cable sizing calculations, and other engineering analyses.
- Provide technical guidance and resolutions for site queries, RFIs, NCRs, and engineering change requests.
- Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Public Health, ELV, and BIM disciplines.
- Monitor construction activities remotely and provide engineering support to site teams.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, international standards, client requirements, and project quality procedures.
- Participate in design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and progress reviews.
- Support BIM coordination activities and ensure electrical models meet BIM execution plan requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years site experience
- Middle East experience preferred
- Strong expertise in electrical design review and construction support
- Thorough understanding of electrical engineering codes, standards, and authority requirements
- Ability to manage remote engineering teams and site support activities effectively
- Proficiency in reviewing BIM models, engineering calculations, shop drawings, and technical submissions
- Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Effective communication and leadership capabilities in multidisciplinary project environments
- Knowledge of UAE local authority regulations and international standards including IEC, BS, NFPA, and IEEE
- Experience reviewing electrical submissions from contractors
- Ability to evaluate load calculations, cable sizing, and protection systems
- Ability to respond to technical queries
