Job Description
Senior Engineering Manager leading hands-on engineering teams building AI-powered governance products. Shaping architecture, coaching engineers, and scaling delivery for Board Intelligence’s board-effectiveness platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead as part of the engineering leadership team, driving continuous improvements to software delivery culture and strategy
- Stay hands-on by writing code and building products within an engineering pod
- Coach and mentor engineers and contribute to clearer career paths
- Shape technical architecture and key decisions with the CTO and other engineering leaders
- Hire and develop strong engineers as the team grows
- Champion AI-assisted engineering built on solid fundamentals
- Work closely with product and the wider business to deliver client needs
Requirements:
- Extensive software engineering experience, including a proven track record of leading engineering teams
- Hands-on technical ability, with recent experience writing production code
- Track record of coaching, mentoring and growing engineers
- Broad technical knowledge across the stack, with deep expertise in at least one area
- Strong system design and architecture skills
- Clear, confident communication and ability to influence at all levels
- Experience using AI coding tools, and a view on how they change the way teams work
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS company (nice to have)
- Experience building for enterprise clients, ideally in regulated industries (nice to have)
- Experience designing career frameworks or engineering levels (nice to have)
- Experience leading remote or distributed teams (nice to have)
