Job Description
Senior IT Business Analyst improving Ryder’s fleet, transportation, and supply-chain operations. Leading requirements, process improvement, automation, testing, and analyst mentoring.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and understand business needs and system design
- Lead process improvement projects using Six Sigma and similar methodologies and analytics
- Communicate with business users and IT staff to examine processes and requests
- Develop complex, detailed requirements and process flow charts for applications, systems, and enhancements
- Formulate and recommend solutions and options that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and automation
- Mentor and train less experienced Business Analysts
- Serve as liaison between business and IT groups during development and implementation of new systems and enhancements
- Identify business and systems process and procedure needs
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and related events
- Examine and evaluate business needs and requests to define process, system, and service requirements
- Record and update business and functional requirements/specifications
- Conduct feasibility and economic studies for automation or process improvement recommendations
- Create success measures to assess proposed solutions
- Develop test plans and scripts for user acceptance testing
- Assist in developing PMO processes and procedures for Business Analyst activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Business, Business Process Improvement, Informatics, or Engineering
- Five (5) years or more of Business Analysis or Project Management experience required
- Five (5) years or more of experience in Systems Development and Project Management preferred
- Advanced business analysis techniques required
- Advanced Ryder business knowledge, practices, and processes preferred
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Ability to understand communicated information and ideas
- Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
- Ability to present information and ideas clearly and understandably
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships across the organization
- Ability to facilitate meetings, work sessions, and training
- Aptitude to learn a new business and systems
- Ability to guide, engage, and impart knowledge to others
- Ability to think strategically and understand business planning
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
