Job Description
Senior Mechanical Engineer designing mechanical and plumbing systems for Meade, a data-center and construction engineering firm. Leading designs, equipment selection, and coordination across project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Independently drive projects forward throughout design and construction phases
- Design mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers
- Oversee the production of all mechanical designs, systems and drawings
- Work amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams and manufacturers
- Select and schedule major equipment
- Collaborate with MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines
- Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings
Requirements:
- 7+ years of Professional Mechanical Engineering design experience designing mechanical systems for data centers or other mission critical projects
- Valid Mechanical P.E. license and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (will consider Engineering in Training certification)
- Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and energy codes
- Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
- Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team
- Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit
