Job Description
Senior mobile developer building iOS and Android experiences for Perry Street Software’s SCRUFF and Jack’d LGBTQ+ dating apps. Shipping scalable, testable code to millions of users.
Responsibilities:
- Build user-facing components for the next generation of SCRUFF and Jack’d
- Implement clean architecture using dependency injection, modules, and functional/reactive programming
- Develop modern UIs using Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI
- Practice test-driven and behavior-driven development beginning at the ViewModel layer
- Apply architectural principles across a global, distributed team using architectural linters
- Work in an agile team with Product, Design, Support, and Marketing
- Develop solutions end to end, from design and requirements through coding, refactoring, delivery, and maintenance
- Collaborate through pair and mob programming across a global team
- Learn and develop other technologies including Kotlin, React, and/or Ruby on Rails
- Use AI coding technologies such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development
- Develop production-ready code serving millions of users
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 4+ years of iOS or Android app development experience
- Experience using design and architecture patterns
- Deep understanding of Github and git-driven development processes
- Open to learning about and enhancing productivity with AI-powered coding tools
- Good sense of usability and product for mobile apps
- Strong sense of ownership, ability to work independently, and proven track record of driving products
- Previously shipped consumer iOS or Android apps, ideally available in the stores
- Experience with testable and maintainable mobile architectures
- Experience working for remote, global teams
- Available to collaborate between 9a EST and 1p EST, regardless of present timezone
- EU-based candidates must be available 11am CET–8pm CET (Winter) or 12pm CET–9pm CET (Summer)
- Brasil-based candidates must be available 8am EST–5pm EST
- North America-based candidates must be available 8am EST–5pm EST
- Excited about and open to pair programming
- Open to learning languages outside current client specialty, such as Ruby, Python or SQL
