Job Description
Senior Product Engineer building HiveRx’s regulated pharmacy operations platform. Developing Laravel/Vue features, integrations, and secure patient and prescriber portals.
Responsibilities:
- Own core HiveRx platform development for regulated compounding pharmacy environments
- Contribute to core platform work and patient/prescriber portal development
- Build full-stack features across Laravel, Vue, Inertia, Tailwind, and the existing platform architecture
- Prevent platform and portal work from stalling due to single-person dependency
- Maintain architectural consistency across internal and external product surfaces
- Participate in QA, release planning, and post-release validation
- Translate business needs, portal concepts, and regulatory requirements into implementation plans
- Research workflows, compliance constraints, integration behavior, and user experience requirements
- Improve technical specifications and identify gaps in handoffs, acceptance criteria, dependencies, or release planning
- Work directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements
- Support features involving pharmacy workflows, compliance-heavy operations, ERP-adjacent needs, and business-system integration
- Build secure, polished, and operationally correct patient and prescriber portal workflows
- Assess effects of internal workflow changes on external users, data, reporting, and operational queues
- Contribute to technical, user-facing, and compliance-relevant documentation
- Maintain product momentum without introducing long-term complexity
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or a related technical role
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software applications
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, solve complex engineering challenges, and deliver high-quality solutions
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile or similar development environment
- Strong proficiency in the programming languages, frameworks, and technologies required for the role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Strong command of PHP and Laravel; ability to read, debug, and write production code in a real codebase
- Comfortable with Vue 3, Inertia.js, Tailwind CSS, and Vite-based frontend tooling
- Able to move between backend services, frontend workflows, database state, integrations, and release validation
- Experience working in or building software for regulated industries, preferably healthcare
- Understanding of compliance considerations affecting software design, including audit trails, data integrity, access control, PHI, and change documentation
- Comfortable using AI tools for research, code review, implementation support, and documentation
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and documentation
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- Senior ownership mentality, practical execution, context-switching, and sound judgment
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Effective communication via telephone and email
- Ability to lift forty (40) pounds and move, lift, or carry boxes
- Fine motor skills and visual acuity
