Job Description
Senior Project Manager leading Stryker’s digital health, connected-device, and software R&D programs. Coordinating complex cross-functional workstreams, risks, budgets, and delivery milestones.
Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple complex, cross-functional R&D projects and digital product workstreams from planning through execution
- Own project scope, schedules, milestones, and dependencies, including integrated plans for digital and connected-device teams
- Manage concurrent workstreams and priorities, resources, and cross-functional dependencies
- Identify project risks, evaluate business impact and interdependencies, and determine mitigation and escalation
- Drive clarity, accountability, decision-making, obstacle resolution, and milestone momentum in ambiguous situations
- Partner with engineering and technical teams to support planning and execution
- Influence stakeholders across functions and levels without direct authority
- Improve project management processes, workflows, and operating practices
- Facilitate project planning, scoping, workshops, and stakeholder discussions
- Communicate status, risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and decisions to teams and senior leadership
- Support resource and budget planning with functional leaders
- Apply traditional and Agile project management practices
- Build cross-organizational relationships and encourage concerns, challenges, and process improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
- 6+ years of professional experience, including demonstrated project management experience leading complex projects
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results through influence rather than direct reporting authority
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and make sound decisions in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to identify issues, drive action, and improve processes
- Experience supporting digital products, software development, or technology-driven programs
- Experience working with connected devices, medical devices, or another complex product development environment
- Experience with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies
- Experience facilitating workshops, project scoping sessions, or cross-functional planning activities
- Experience with project budgeting and resource planning
- New product development and/or sustaining product experience
- PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred
