Job Description

Senior Project Manager leading complex energy infrastructure and construction projects for Ameresco. Overseeing engineering, subcontractors, safety, budgets, schedules, commissioning, and customer delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end execution of complex energy infrastructure and construction projects
  • Provide project leadership, governance, and accountability for safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Direct project development and delivery with Engineering, Construction, and Operations leadership
  • Drive project strategy, constructability reviews, scope definition, procurement planning, subcontractor selection, cost estimating, scheduling, commissioning, startup, and long-term operational readiness
  • Oversee subcontractor, vendor, and supplier relationships
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control and on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Provide ongoing project status updates throughout design and construction
  • Evaluate technologies and equipment and recommend suitable solutions
  • Lead site safety and health plans, quality assurance and control, operations and maintenance startup, manuals, and training activities
  • Provide project reports, documentation, technical assistance, support, and collaboration
  • Manage project teams and resources, including expenditures and job cost accounting processes
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes
  • Foster positive business relationships at all levels and project phases
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering, project management, business management, or related degree; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Minimum 7 years civil infrastructure, electrical (medium/high voltage), mechanical/turbine/generators, engineering, or industrial power construction project management work experience involving complex and multi-site facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and automation, energy services, and renewable technology
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background and drug screening pre-employment checks
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex renewable energy projects
  • Prior experience leading and managing construction teams and resources on highly complex and multi-site projects
  • Progressive construction project management work experience with direct digital energy controls systems, variable frequency drives, high efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, nuclear, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technology, warranty and service requirements
  • Proven experience implementing OSHA safety standards, civil site work, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple project deliverables and foster positive business relationships
  • Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD, and Procore
  • Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state
  • Ability to travel up to 15% annually; may require on-call response and travel
  • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) and OSHA certification is a bonus
  • Data center project management experience is preferred
  • Completion or active progress toward engineering, project management, or industry-related education is preferred
