Job Description

Senior Public Health Analyst supporting CDC public health programs through research, evaluation, and technical assistance. Developing evidence-based recommendations and technical products for CDC stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level public health analysis and technical assistance in support of CDC programs and initiatives
  • Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of public health programs and projects
  • Conduct research, literature reviews, environmental scans, and analysis of public health policies, programs, practices, and emerging issues
  • Assess program needs, capabilities, performance, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop evidence-based recommendations to improve program effectiveness, efficiency, and public health outcomes
  • Support development and implementation of program work plans, project plans, milestones, and performance measures
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative information to support program decision-making
  • Assist with development of evaluation approaches, performance measures, logic models, data collection instruments, and program assessment tools
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to CDC programs and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to identify programmatic challenges, risks, dependencies, and opportunities
  • Support project management activities including schedules, action items, deliverables, status tracking, and stakeholder coordination
  • Develop reports, white papers, briefing materials, presentations, dashboards, and other technical products for CDC leadership and program staff
  • Translate complex public health findings and technical information into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Participate in and facilitate meetings, working groups, stakeholder engagements, webinars, and technical assistance sessions
  • Support emerging CDC priorities and high-visibility public health initiatives
  • Monitor relevant public health developments, policies, research, and emerging threats and assess potential implications for CDC programs
  • Collaborate with senior analysts, program managers, evaluators, and subject matter experts to integrate findings across workstreams
  • Support organizational and process improvement initiatives when public health expertise is required
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve program processes, performance, communication, and stakeholder engagement
  • Maintain accurate documentation of research, analysis, recommendations, and program activities
  • Ensure work products are technically accurate, evidence-based, timely, and responsive to CDC requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health sciences, health administration, public policy, social sciences, or a related field
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in public health, public health program analysis, program management, health policy, program evaluation, or a related field
  • Experience supporting Federal Government, public health agencies, healthcare organizations, or related public health programs
  • Demonstrated experience conducting public health research, analysis, assessment, or program support
  • Experience developing technical reports, presentations, briefing materials, and other professional communications
  • Ability to analyze complex information and develop clear, evidence-based recommendations
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a deadline-driven environment
  • Master's degree in public health, health administration, epidemiology, health policy, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience supporting CDC, HHS, or other Federal public health organizations preferred
  • Experience supporting CDC programs, initiatives, or cooperative agreements preferred
  • Experience with public health program evaluation and performance measurement preferred
  • Experience developing logic models, evaluation frameworks, performance indicators, or program assessment methodologies preferred
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods preferred
  • Experience providing technical assistance or capacity-building support to public health organizations preferred
  • Experience with strategic planning, organizational assessment, or process improvement preferred
  • Experience supporting public health emergency preparedness, response, or emerging public health priorities preferred
  • Familiarity with Federal public health policies, programs, and operating environments preferred
