Job Description

Senior Software Engineer building NextJS, FastAPI, and AI-powered products for Paramount Streaming. Owning internal data tools that guide streaming performance, audience, and content decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and build internal web applications using NextJS and FastAPI
  • Design and own backend services and REST APIs powering automation tools and AI-driven features
  • Partner with data engineers to integrate BigQuery pipelines and metadata systems into user-facing products
  • Drive features from concept through production, owning technical design, implementation, and reliability
  • Solve ambiguous problems across the stack while balancing delivery speed with maintainability
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
  • Define and champion engineering standards for code quality, testing, and system design
  • Shape the technical roadmap and architectural decisions as the team scales

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software development experience building internal tools or data-driven applications
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience architecting production web applications with React or NextJS
  • Experience designing and scaling REST APIs, such as FastAPI
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehouses including BigQuery and Snowflake, including performance optimization
  • Ability to own systems end-to-end: design, deployment, monitoring, and iteration
  • Experience mentoring engineers and spearheading engineering standards
  • Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with workflow orchestration systems such as Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster at scale
  • Hands-on experience building production AI solutions, including agents, agentic workflows, and RAG systems
  • Knowledge of LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Google ADK and their tradeoffs
  • Experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini APIs into production, including prompt engineering and cost management
  • Background in containerization and cloud infrastructure such as Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, or AWS
  • Background in data engineering, pipeline design, and building tooling for analysts
  • Experience in media, entertainment, or streaming industries
