Job Description
Staff Attorney supporting GPM’s wholesale fuel distribution and fleet fueling operations. Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts while improving in-house legal processes and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Process buyout requests and terminations of wholesale customer agreements
- Draft and review correspondence, ancillary transaction documents, amendments, consents, notices, and other contract-related materials
- Maintain and update the contracts and matter tracker
- Provide regular status reports to the Deputy General Counsel and senior leadership
- Review and improve standard supply, consignment, and lease templates
- Identify process improvements for contract intake, drafting turnaround, and legal support for operational teams
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Report to the Deputy General Counsel
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of transactional or corporate legal experience, in-house or at a law firm
- Juris Doctorate
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Familiarity with supply, distribution, lease, or M&A transactions preferred
- Familiarity with commercial contract law
- Knowledge of UCC Article 2 and Article 9 principles
- Familiarity with standard secured transaction and M&A documentation
- Strong analytical/logical mindset and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of concurrent matters
- Ability to prioritize under tight time constraints
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team setting
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Fuel, Logistics, Real Estate, Credit, and Risk Management
- Admission in Virginia or Texas preferred
