Job Description

Staff Data Engineer leading ETL pipelines and data solutions for Swing Left and Vote Forward. Collaborating on data-driven insights to support strategic priorities and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of ETL pipelines and Data Lake infrastructure within Swing left and Vote Forward, and usher the solutions into production
  • Perform ETL and Sanitation on disparate data flows from multiple internal and external sources
  • Maintain data security, quality, and performance with details documentation and decide on tradeoffs between technical designs
  • Lead data governance and user attribution strategy across all products and programs
  • Develop and oversee processes to ensure organization-wide creation of metrics and data-driven goals are strategic, measurable, and achievable
  • Provide leadership with guidance on the resourcing requirements for data and analytics, as informed by organizational goals and roadmaps
  • Collaborate with The Movement Cooperative and other external partners as a representative of Swing Left and Vote Forward
  • Manage 3rd party integrations with sources like Phoenix, NGPVAN, and ActBlue, and serve as point of contact for their teams

Requirements:

  • A strong interest in and alignment with the distinct missions and values of Swing Left and Vote Forward
  • 6+ years of experience in the technology industry
  • Expertise with Python and SQL
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud, DBT, PostgreSQL query optimization
  • Agility navigating and developing large-scale systems
  • Experience leading sprints and dev operations for small, agile teams
  • Strong product sense and cross-functional communication skills
  • A learning mentality and the ability to pick up new skills quickly
