Job Description

Staff Software Engineer leading technical design and implementation at Atropos Health. Collaborating on scalable, resilient, and secure software solutions utilizing Python and React.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop complex backend and frontend components, defining technical roadmaps and influencing design decisions using Python/Django and React.
  • Lead the implementation of robust, testable, and scalable systems, championing best practices and advocating for technical excellence.
  • Design and maintain comprehensive CI/CD pipelines, optimizing deployment processes and ensuring high availability.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, UI/UX design, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into well-defined technical solutions, proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks.
  • Establish and maintain coding standards through code reviews, fostering a culture of quality and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Integrate and manage data flows from various back-end services and databases, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies and industry trends, aligning our applications with strategic business goals and future innovation.
  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex application issues, acting as a technical escalation point and mentoring junior engineers through the process.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical leadership within the team.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer, with significant experience leading company-wide, impactful software initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for backend development.
  • Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React, and a solid understanding of ECMAScript 2025 features.
  • In-depth knowledge of front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Testing Library, Jest, Playwright, or similar) and test-driven development (TDD).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructures, particularly AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3).
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of web security best practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Healthcare related experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge or equivalent experience working in environments handling sensitive data (ex PHI in healthcare).
