Job Description
Technical Specialist for KRYPTOR systems and assays at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Provide technical expertise and support for laboratory implementation and customer education.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary laboratory and technical specialist within Medical Affairs for the KRYPTOR compact plus, KRYPTOR gold, and related assay portfolio.
- Provide customer-facing technical education on instrument operation, assay workflow, implementation considerations, validation planning, and best practices for use in clinical and research environments.
- Support customer and/or study site onboarding and implementation activities, including workflow discussions, assay setup, operator education, and coordination with internal technical and commercial teams.
- Guide laboratories and research customers through assay verification and validation processes, helping them understand performance characteristics, workflow requirements, documentation expectations, and operational considerations.
- Provide ongoing post-implementation support to study sites and customers, including utilization and workflow assessments, process optimization, best practice sharing, refresher training, and coordination of preventive maintenance activities.
- Act as a scientific and technical partner for commercial teams in customer discussions involving KRYPTOR systems, assay applications, implementation planning, and post-installation success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biology, biochemistry, immunology, or related life science field
- 5+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory, diagnostics, medical device, or life sciences environment
- Hands-on experience with immunoassay systems, automated analyzers, or related laboratory instrumentation required
- Customer-facing experience in technical support, applications, field training, medical affairs, or scientific affairs preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of automated immunoassay systems and clinical laboratory operations, including Time-Resolved Amplified Cryptate Emission (TRACE) technology
- Strong presentation and training skills, with the ability to tailor content to laboratorians, researchers, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
