Job Description

3D-Scan-Trainer:in für Maschinenbau und Scan-to-CAD bei WBS TRAINING. Vermittlung praxisnaher Reverse-Engineering-Workflows im virtuellen Klassenzimmer.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hands-on training in 3D scanning fundamentals with a focus on mechanical engineering
  • Teach the complete scan-to-CAD process: 3D scanning, point clouds, mesh, reverse engineering, CAD model, technical drawing and manufacturing
  • Supervise project work based on real components
  • Incorporate current technologies and industrial use cases into the instruction
  • Support participants in confidently transferring their knowledge to practical applications
  • Conduct training sessions in the virtual classroom

Requirements:

  • Technical education or degree, e.g., in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, product development or surveying
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in 3D scanning, reverse engineering or digital data capture
  • Solid knowledge of various scanning technologies, e.g., laser, structured-light or handheld scanners
  • Routine handling of point clouds, mesh data and file formats (STL, OBJ, PLY, STEP)
  • Experience preparing and post-processing scan data
  • Practical experience integrating scan data into CAD systems
  • Experience in reverse engineering of mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Good understanding of technical drawings and basic design principles
  • Experience teaching adults or delivering training
  • Familiarity with Artec Studio, Geomagic (Design X/Warp), PolyWorks, VXelements or FARO Scene
  • Experience with at least one CAD system, e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo or NX
  • Knowledge of metrology, quality requirements and data evaluation
  • Ability to assess scan results in terms of accuracy and suitability for use
  • Experience with practical workflows and project-based learning
  • Interest in digital twins, digitalization and scan-to-CAD
  • Nice-to-have: Certifications from scanner or software manufacturers
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in optical metrology or quality assurance
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of 3D printing / additive manufacturing
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with mobile mapping, drone scanning or large-scale scanning projects
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to AI, BIM or AR/VR
  • Nice-to-have: Experience delivering online training
  • Process-oriented understanding of the scan-to-CAD workflow
  • Ability to explain complex content clearly, understandably and enthusiastically
  • Self-directed, structured and learner-centered way of working
