Job Description

VDI Engineer designing and operating secure Hyper-V and VMware environments for Accelera Solutions’ U.S. Air Force customers. Automating deployments, managing cloud infrastructure, and resolving networking, computing, and security issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of VDI solutions aligned with organizational goals, including scalable, reliable, and secure hardware and software components
  • Implement and maintain VDI security best practices
  • Monitor VDI performance, identify issues, recommend and implement solutions, and optimize infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, performance, and scalability
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and resource utilization issues
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators to support application development and deployment
  • Maintain documentation of architectures, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve networking, computing, and security issues
  • Perform network maintenance and operations
  • Document and communicate technical information to clients
  • Participate in planning, backlog refinement and prioritization, retrospectives, deployment, and validation efforts
  • Work with the manager to align requirements, priorities, and objectives with the overall solution

Requirements:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Microsoft Server Administrator Associate Certification
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field substituted for 5 years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years’ experience setting up and managing cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure and Kubernetes
  • 5+ years’ experience integrating and securing ADDS, ADCS, ADFS, Windows AD-integrated PKI, and SSO implementation
  • 5+ years’ experience handling logs and metrics at high scale
  • 5+ years’ experience with Azure, virtualization, Windows Servers, Windows 11, M365, networks, storage, and Active Directory
  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience creating, analyzing, and automating Linux scripts using Python, Command, Bash, C, and Ansible
  • 3+ years’ cumulative experience with Hyper-V and VMware
  • 3+ years’ cumulative experience with log management, network firewalls, and testing
  • Hands-on cloud migration experience
  • Experience securing systems according to STIGs, NIST 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, and other government/compliance requirements
  • Experience with systems administration in Linux environments (RHCE equivalence) or Windows Server environments
  • System administrator-level understanding of Windows Server
  • System administrator-level understanding of RHEL/Linux Server
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work well under pressure
  • Desired certifications include Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, VMware VCP 7.0+, and Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
  • Desired: 2+ years’ recent cumulative Azure Cloud Computing experience
