Job Description

Vice President leading curriculum, apps, and product strategy for Springboard Collaborative’s home-school education programs. Driving learning outcomes, team performance, technology delivery, and market adoption.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee curriculum and application development and align product strategy with enterprise goals
  • Own the strategic product portfolio and oversee product lifecycle execution
  • Drive on-time feature delivery and learning outcomes
  • Act as the strategic bridge between Program Development, Curriculum & Instruction, and Technology teams
  • Ensure science of learning, instructional design, and rigorous evidence of student outcomes drive product design
  • Define and maintain a unified, multi-year product lifecycle roadmap
  • Lead and manage product development teams, individual contributors, and departmental resources
  • Recruit, mentor, and coach a highly skilled, mission-driven team
  • Manage and optimize the annual departmental budget
  • Champion an outcome-driven culture focused on student development, retention, and family/educator engagement
  • Own the team operating playbook and reinforce product management best practices
  • Maintain lightweight agile rituals, artifacts, and communication patterns with the Project Management Office and agile/scrum facilitators
  • Oversee development and maintenance of customer-facing technology
  • Lead engineering and product owners on architecture decisions, system performance, trade-offs, and build-vs-buy evaluations
  • Ensure digital software is architected for institutional deployment
  • Enforce student data privacy policies and accessibility standards
  • Align product development with go-to-market initiatives and delivery
  • Design, experiment with, and deploy strategic pricing and packaging models
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success on launches, pilot recruitment, pricing tests, and post-launch enablement
  • Drive product efficacy through product discovery, rapid prototyping, and customer feedback loops
  • Define, instrument, and track product performance metrics
  • Maintain user testing, cohort analyses, and classroom pilots
  • Lead market mapping and competitive analysis
  • In the first year, adopt the Pillars and Capabilities decision framework, execute improvements from a randomized control trial, integrate Program Services into product development, and ensure Family App and Program Fidelity App readiness
  • Supervise the Curriculum and Instruction leader, Product Engineering leader, Program Services leader, and four product owners
  • Report to the President and serve on the Senior Leadership Team

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive product management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of driving products from initial strategy through successful market delivery
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience
  • Proven ability to attract top-tier talent, restructure teams, and mentor teams
  • Impeccable verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with educational C-suite-level stakeholders
  • Experience leading or collaborating with curriculum development and engineering teams
  • Ability to balance long-term technical feasibility and scalability with near-term product velocity
  • Experience partnering with Go-to-Market stakeholders to support pilots, state adoptions, and sales-led or product-led growth motions
  • Deep knowledge of the K-12 educational landscape
  • Strong understanding of the science of learning, instructional design, and curriculum development
  • Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and Human-Centered Design frameworks
  • Eligible to work and reside in the United States
  • Willingness to travel 10–20%
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 when working in person at a Springboard facility or participating in in-person programming/events, unless medically or religiously exempt
  • Nice to have: Experience with the delivery of educational services
