Job Description
Virtual Therapist providing evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy for Pasadena Villa’s remote Intensive Outpatient mental health program. Assessing clients, coordinating care, and managing clinical documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions for clients in a virtual Intensive Outpatient mental health program
- Assess clients’ therapeutic needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Facilitate group, family, individual, and specialized therapy sessions
- Complete psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans, and other required reports
- Complete documentation within prescribed formats and timelines
- Monitor and document ongoing assessments of clients’ clinical presentations and behaviors
- Select appropriate clinical interventions for individual client needs
- Maintain therapeutic relationships and encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes
- Conduct verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation in a virtual environment
- Follow established client safety and emergency response protocols
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care from admission through discharge
- Attend clinical, consultation, and operations meetings
- Serve as a clinical advocate for assigned cases
- Communicate client progress to referral sources, families, parents, and guardians as appropriate
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, clinical providers, referral partners, and vendors
- Attend and complete required training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology
- Must hold an LCSW, LPC/MHSP, LMFT or PhD; PsyD with HSP, in good standing, within the state of Tennessee
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis
- Tennessee clinical licensure
- Willingness to obtain Iowa clinical licensure
- Criminal background check clearance and any other mandatory state/federal requirements
- Willing to obtain licensure in additional states, as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, clients, families, and external partners
- Ability to sit or remain stationary for extended periods
- Ability to speak and hear
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- Knowledge of current theory and evidence-based practice
- Screening and assessment knowledge, including psychosocial, pain, domestic violence, substance use, self-harm, and distress assessments
- Competency delivering individual, family, and group behavioral health services through virtual platforms
- Ability to maintain client engagement, therapeutic presence, privacy, and professional boundaries in a virtual environment
