Job Description
Remote thumbnail designer and video editor creating YouTube content for an FDA/FTC compliance advisor. Designing thumbnails primarily and editing long- and short-form videos secondarily.
Responsibilities:
- Design high-converting YouTube thumbnails
- Follow client-provided keywords, messaging direction, and image requirements
- Provide creative input and suggestions
- Deliver thumbnails in batches
- Optionally edit long-form videos by cutting mistakes and filler, adding B-roll and light animations, and maintaining clean, professional pacing
- Create engaging short-form clips from long-form content
- Optimize short-form videos for social media consumption
- Submit all outputs for client review and approval before publishing
- Work on approximately 1–2 videos per month
- Complete smaller onboarding video sections before full editing assignments
Requirements:
- Proven experience in YouTube thumbnail design
- Strong sense of visual hierarchy, composition, and attention-grabbing design
- Ability to follow instructions precisely
- Strong communication and responsiveness
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar (nice-to-have)
- Understanding of YouTube performance metrics (nice-to-have)
- Experience with B-roll and light animations (nice-to-have)
- Knowledge of content optimization for YouTube (nice-to-have)
- Reliability and responsiveness are critical
- Ability to return onboarding segments within approximately 24–48 hours for review
