Job Description
Freelance Video Editor creating algorithm-optimized social content for VaynerMedia, a global integrated creative and media agency. Editing, testing, and optimizing videos across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Responsibilities:
- Create content that builds impactful consumer connections, measured through views, likes, comments, shares, and retention
- Serve as an algorithm-fluent editor specializing in hooks, pacing, structure, and retention across social platforms
- Own the DJ-ing, remixing, and optimization of content to drive scalable performance
- Take principal accountability for performance tuning and platform success
- Edit and assemble raw footage into polished final videos optimized for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
- Stay current with platform algorithms, emerging formats, creator trends, and editing techniques
- Contribute ideas and participate in ideation
- Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional departments on rapid-fire requests and tight timelines
- Attend creative brainstorms, kickoffs, and team meetings
- Mentor Creators and, in some cases, Art Directors and Copywriters, following A/CD leadership to guide ideation, execution, and performance optimization
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of professional creative experience, with demonstrable passion for making content across platforms such as social, streaming, AR, music, film, and interactive
- Proven experience as a video editor, preferably within advertising, digital media, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop
- Extraordinary content creation skills, including video and motion design, with ability to execute from start to finish
- Strong understanding of social platform best practices and performance metrics
- Responsible, accountable, and self-starting, demonstrating initiative
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally and foster positive team dynamics
- Freelance role based in Malaysia
