Job Description
Accountant providing accrual-based bookkeeping and financial reporting for kept.pro’s clients. Managing month-end close, reconciliations, payroll, sales tax, and client accounting operations remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting functions within QuickBooks Online and other platforms
- Determine the effect of accounting transactions under accrual or cash basis
- Prepare initial drafts of monthly financial statements
- Lead the month-end close process
- Maintain supporting balance sheet schedules, including prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, fixed asset schedules, and payroll liability reconciliations
- Prepare and record month-end journal entries
- Complete full-cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable duties
- Prepare and review payroll
- Prepare and review sales tax
- Serve as the primary communicator with clients
- Review team members’ work and support the Controller in coaching and training less experienced team members
- Set up new technology integrations and troubleshoot issues
- Partner with vendors and platforms to complete accounting operations
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Experience working with more than 5 clients or entities across varied industries
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or bookkeeping certification
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency with accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and month-end close processes
- Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and complete projects within specified timeframes
- Comfort engaging with clients
- Comfort leveraging tools and technology to collaborate with remote team members
- Must reside within a state where the company is established: Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, or Minnesota
