Job Description

Accounting Clerk managing financial transactions and assisting with various accounting functions at CIS. Responsible for accounts payable, receivable, and compliance reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions including reviewing, verifying, and processing supplier invoices for accuracy and authorization
  • Match transactions to purchase orders and other relevant documentation; maintain supporting documentation for transactions electronically
  • Prepare and process electronic payments and checks; monitor payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements
  • Assist in the month end accounting close process
  • Assist in the analysis and reconciliation of supplier statements and resolution of discrepancies
  • Communicate with external vendors/customers and various internal stakeholders to gather information to support the financial reporting process
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance with appropriate accounting standards
  • Ensure and follow department compliance with best practices and standards, and recommend improvements to company accounting practices
  • Assist in gathering data for annual audits
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or related work
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail with accuracy and good record keeping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
