Job Description
Agile Team Lead leading bespoke software delivery for public-sector clients at Kainos. Managing agile teams, stakeholder relationships, delivery risks, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead an agile team to deliver high-quality solutions meeting client and user needs
- Create a positive, creative, and productive team culture
- Empower and support team members to perform, learn, and grow
- Identify and remove blockers and manage team-level risks and issues
- Collaborate with Agile Team Leads and stakeholders under the guidance of a Delivery Manager
- Establish ways of working for agile planning, forecasting, and product backlog delivery
- Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage, coach, and develop staff, including employee performance and improvement plans
- Provide data, forecasts, and progress updates for planning
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to capture requirements and establish shared understanding
- Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders
- Ensure stakeholders have accurate delivery-status data and technical quality standards are followed
- Support the Delivery Manager in delivering agreed project outcomes within budget
- Contribute to the wider Management capability
Requirements:
- Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance is mandatory
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with UK public sector organisations
- Minimum 3 years of experience delivering bespoke software projects from scratch using agile methodologies for external customers
- Experience in bespoke software delivery as part of an agile team for an external customer
- Client-facing consulting-environment experience is a must-have
- Strong experience in customer-facing projects, including syncs, reporting, presentations, board meetings, workshops, and upscaling opportunities
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- High flexibility, including willingness to work away from home base
- Good understanding of technology, digital services, and trends
- Experience working with user research, design, and data analytics expertise
- Commercial awareness in client-supplier and multi-supplier environments, with appreciation of project-level financials
- Understanding of planning and reporting methods common to project delivery
- Scrum Master or similar Agile delivery certification is desirable
