Job Description
AI Engineer developing Python, GenAI, and LLM applications for Ford Motors Company’s GCP-based AI/MLOps platform. Supporting model deployment, autonomous agents, APIs, and automated ML pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Python-based applications leveraging GenAI, LLMs, and traditional machine learning models to solve business problems
- Help deliver and scale the AI/MLOps platform on GCP for data scientists across the company
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews and use Git for version control and collaboration
- Assist in developing autonomous AI agents using LangGraph or ADK to automate workflows
- Support production deployment of AI models, run simulations for algorithm development, and collaborate on intelligent-system design
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs connecting systems and services within the ML platform
- Help automate model training, retraining, and deployment pipelines using Agile methodologies and CI/CD/CT principles under senior-engineer guidance
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand platform vision, break down tasks, and solve complex AI problems
- Experiment with NLP, computer vision, MLOps, and Kubernetes and share learnings with the team
- Participate in innovating and standardizing AI/ML development practices
- Leverage AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cline, or Open Code while maintaining code quality, security, and performance
Requirements:
- English proficiency, written and verbal
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical discipline
- 2+ years of experience with Python and cloud engineering/services such as GCP Vertex AI and related services
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and Generative AI technologies, including LLMs
- Experience with AI/ML workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Kubeflow
- Experience in DevSecOps using tools such as Tekton, SonarQube, or Checkmarx/Checkmarks
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell
- Desired: Master’s degree in computer science, AI, machine learning, or related field
- Desired: Exposure to ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Desired: Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitHub Actions, SonarQube, or Checkmarks
- Desired: Basic knowledge or experience with Terraform
- Desired: Ability to contribute to ML-platform user interfaces using React, Dash, Angular, or similar frameworks
- Desired: Experience with container technology, Dockerfiles, Docker images, GitHub, and CI/CD concepts
- Desired: Experience with Agile methodologies, pair programming, or test-driven development
