Job Description
AI Engineer building .NET/C# backends and Azure/OpenAI solutions for Imaginary Cloud, a software development and UX/UI design company. Deploying generative AI products for global clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative digital products that improve and simplify people's lives
- Perform development, problem-solving, management, and human interaction tasks
- Create orchestration and backend APIs using .NET/C#
- Build generative AI solutions for summarisation, extraction, filtering, and speech-to-text/transcription
- Apply RAG and AI search patterns
- Use Agentic AI tools to accelerate code development, refactoring, and complex debugging
- Deploy or integrate AI models into production APIs, pipelines, and backend systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and product development teams
- Work across multiple industries and projects for global clients
- Participate in mentoring, performance appraisals, knowledge-sharing events, and collective celebrations
Requirements:
- 3+ years of working experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related software engineering roles
- Academic background in Computer Science, Data science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
- Strong professional experience with .NET/C# (.NET Core, .NET 6/8), including building orchestration and backend APIs
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI / OpenAI / ChatGPT-class models (GPT-4o-level)
- Experience with generative AI for summarisation, extraction, filtering, speech-to-text/transcription pipelines
- Experience with patterns such as RAG and AI search patterns
- Outstanding proficiency in Agentic AI tools like Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot
- Excellent understanding of Transformer-based model architectures and general Machine Learning principles
- Experience deploying or integrating AI models into production environments (APIs, pipelines, or backend systems)
- Analytical mind with a strong problem-solving aptitude
- Experience collaborating with engineering and product development teams
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Must live in Portugal or be legally qualified and willing to live and work there
