Job Description

Applied ML Manager leading teams developing fraud detection and identity verification models at SentiLink. Owning production ML, risk analysis, and product strategy for U.S. financial systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a team of applied ML scientists, growing from 4 to 6 by the end of 2026
  • Set the engineering and modeling practices used by the team
  • Own priorities, delivery, and results for the assigned area
  • Coach and mentor team members through model development, experimentation, and technical decision-making
  • Review code and contribute directly to production systems where needed
  • Partner with senior leadership, Product, Engineering, and Risk to prioritize work and deliver ML solutions
  • Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and results
  • Represent the domain in product strategy discussions
  • Develop and improve fraud detection and identity models across data acquisition, feature engineering, labeling, training, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration
  • Research emerging fraud patterns and build ML capabilities for identity verification and financial risk
  • Design analyses informing product and business decisions
  • Use AI throughout the team's work and explore AI applications within products

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of industry experience applying machine learning or statistics to real-world problems
  • 3+ years directly managing machine learning or data science teams
  • Experience leading ML or data science teams in fraud, identity, fintech, banking, financial services, payments, or adjacent risk-focused domains
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline
  • Demonstrated success developing and deploying production machine learning models
  • Experience writing production-quality Python code and tests
  • Strong practical ML and applied statistics knowledge
  • Experience planning, defining success criteria, getting buy-in, building solutions, and delivering measurable business impact
  • Comfortable with modern LLMs and AI-assisted development workflows
  • Sound judgment working with sensitive data under information security and data governance constraints
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and technical hands-on abilities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must live in the United States
