Job Description
Remote behavioral health assessor conducting comprehensive needs assessments for mental health and substance use programs. Applying DSM-5 diagnoses, ICD-10 codes, and medical-necessity criteria.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Comprehensive Needs Assessments for the Clinical Department
- Conduct assessments for Mental Health Skill-Building, Intensive In-Home, Substance Use Intensive Outpatient, and Substance Use Partial Hospitalization
- Apply counseling, diagnosis theories, and techniques to diverse consumer populations
- Assess medical necessity and utilize DSM-5 diagnosis and ICD-10 codes
- Meet submission guidelines and complete timely submissions
- Manage time and meet deadlines
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related Human Services field
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience working in a crisis setting with individuals and families
- Minimum of two (2) years of administrative or supervisory experience
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Computer savvy
- Licensed by the Board of Counseling as LMHP Type—LPC, LMFT, LCSW, Resident In Counseling, or Supervisee in Social Work
- Knowledge of direct behavioral health and substance use services
- Knowledge of assessment, treatment, and consultation
- Knowledge of DSMV-TR, diagnosis and symptomology
- Knowledge of medical necessity and service components for specified behavioral health and substance use programs
- Ability to apply counseling, diagnosis theories, and techniques to diverse consumer populations
- Ability to assess medical necessity and utilize DSM-5 diagnosis and ICD-10 codes
- Ability to meet submission guidelines
