Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain Python-based backend services and REST APIs
  • Own data models and query optimization across MongoDB and PostgreSQL
  • Write clean, tested, production-grade code and participate in code review
  • Build internal tooling and automation scripts to accelerate the team
  • Containerize services with Docker and manage deployment configs
  • Debug and resolve application-layer issues quickly, in direct collaboration with engineering
  • Administer our AWS environment (EC2, ECS, RDS, IAM, networking)
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines; manage self-hosted and cloud build agents

  • Help manage cloud-native services like Elasticsearch and Kafka, with a focus on deployment and monitoring
  • Implement DevSecOps best practices: access control, secret management, auditing, and certificate renewals
  • Maintain SOC 2 compliance controls and contribute to audit readiness
  • Write clear technical documentation and lead incident retrospectives to drive reliability improvements

Requirements:

  • Production Python: service development, REST API design, scripting, and automation
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on MongoDB experience
  • Docker for containerization; comfortable writing and debugging Dockerfiles and Compose configs
  • AWS fundamentals: EC2, ECS, RDS, IAM, and networking
  • CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions or similar platforms
  • SOC 2 compliance exposure or equivalent security controls experience
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts across both app and infra layers
  • You write documentation that people actually read.

Benefits:
