Job Description

Community Research Assistant supporting ear health research in Bamaga. Engaging with local communities to gather feedback and ensure respectful research practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Talk with community members about ear health
  • Help organise and take part in yarning circles
  • Collect community feedback and share it with the research team
  • Support researchers to work in a respectful way with community
  • Help make sure community voices are heard in the research

Requirements:

  • Someone who is trusted in the community
  • Able to speak Yumplatok or Torres Strait Kriol
  • Comfortable talking with people and working as part of a team
  • Reliable and organised
  • Experience in health, community work, or research is helpful, but not required
