Job Description
Healthcare finance leader managing hospital close, reporting, budgeting, and accounting improvements for Lifepoint Health’s community-based care network.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end general ledger close process for designated sites and entities
- Ensure completeness of close checklists and perform timely post-close review and analysis
- Support continuous improvement and accounting standardization initiatives
- Perform P&L and balance sheet analysis with commentary and variance explanations
- Collaborate with hospital leadership on post-close analysis, review, reporting, hospital MORs, and operational reviews
- Serve as the primary accounting liaison for assigned facilities during the close process
- Interface with Technical Accounting and hospital operations leaders on complex accounting treatments and issues
- Oversee joint venture accounting, reporting, and distribution processes
- Support annual budgeting processes
- Ensure adequate internal controls and accounting system integrity
- Lead post-close review processes and periodic balance sheet reviews
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger variance analysis
- Liaise with external stakeholders to provide required financial reports and information
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and perform other assigned duties
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 7+ years of progressive healthcare finance/accounting experience, including recent hospital-based accounting leadership experience
- Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
- Experience supporting complex, multi-facility healthcare systems, integrated delivery networks, or large hospital operations preferred
- Ability to operate independently in a high-visibility environment with minimal onboarding and oversight
- Ability to partner directly with hospital CEOs, COOs, department directors, and operational leadership teams
- Experience leading accounting process improvements, standardization initiatives, close optimization efforts, and change management within healthcare organizations
- Expertise in P&L and balance sheet analysis, revenue valuation, and month-end close processes
- Ability to manage reconciliations, journal entries, and post-close reporting
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition, project and capital accounting, and other key accounting processes
- Experience with Oracle, EPM, and financial reporting tools
- Familiarity with RCA and revenue accounting preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
