Job Description
Correspondence Representative processing medical billing correspondence, returned mail, and document imaging for Trinity Health. Supporting patient revenue operations through accurate mailing, indexing, scanning, and supplies management.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day correspondence activities within Hospital and/or Medical Group revenue operations
- Collect, organize, scan, redact, and index patient and insurance correspondence and related documentation into OnBase or a similar application
- Sort and date-stamp incoming fax, email, and postal correspondence and distribute it appropriately
- Review returned mail, research and correct patient accounting information, update envelopes, and resubmit mailings
- Assist with large copy and mail productions and sort outgoing correspondence for cost-effective postage
- Print UB04s and send medical records by Certified Mail to support Billing and Follow-Up teams
- Unpack and stock supplies, maintain inventory, and reorder supplies and envelopes
- Prepare special reports as directed by the manager
- Provide relief support, train new employees when selected, and cross-train in various functions
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager
- Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience within a hospital or clinic environment, an insurance company, managed care organization or other financial service setting, performing mailroom and document imaging functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Data entry skills (50-60 keystrokes per minute)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational, interpersonal, accuracy, attention-to-detail, time management, problem-solving, and independent work skills
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to read, write, and operate a keyboard and telephone effectively
- Ability to work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
- Ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures
- Completion of regulatory/mandatory certifications and skills validation competencies preferred
