Job Description

Counselor Education SME developing outcomes-driven online courses for Post University. Creating course content, evaluating AI-generated materials, and reviewing Blackboard builds.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Instructional Design team to develop an engaging, outcomes-driven online course within a three-month development cycle
  • Review and apply onboarding information provided by Instructional Design and the Program Chair
  • Collaborate with the Instructional Designer and Program Chair to finalize a course roadmap and unit-level objectives
  • Provide or refine course content, including assignments, discussion prompts, assessments, and multimedia suggestions, aligned with learning outcomes
  • Review and finalize content iteratively using designated collaboration tools
  • Incorporate AI-generated draft materials and adapt them for relevance and appropriateness
  • Ensure course content meets quality assurance standards, including ADA compliance
  • Communicate and meet regularly with the course design team, address feedback, and meet design deadlines
  • Review the completed Blackboard course build using provided checklists

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines in a collaborative, remote environment
  • Proficiency with web-based communication and project management tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Experience developing online courses at the graduate level (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Blackboard Ultra or similar learning management systems (preferred)
  • Understanding of or experience using AI tools in content creation (preferred)
  • Online teaching experience in Counselor Education (preferred)
  • Must be physically located and perform work from an approved state; the position is not approved to be performed in Alaska, California, Hawaii, or New York

Benefits:

  • One-time lump-sum compensation of $1,500
  • Additional $500 compensation if the SME develops the course syllabus, bringing total compensation to $2,000
  • Remote work arrangement
  • Three-month development cycle
