Job Description

Cyber Security Engineer building automated security capabilities for Interact’s enterprise intranet platform. Improving Splunk, cloud controls, and incident response through engineering and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategies to protect organisational assets against cyber threats
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify security gaps and mitigate risks
  • Contribute to security architecture including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption mechanisms
  • Monitor security infrastructure, investigate incidents, and implement incident response procedures
  • Integrate security controls into application, system, and network development lifecycles
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices
  • Participate in security audits, compliance assessments, and regulatory reviews
  • Maintain documentation of security processes, procedures, and incident response plans
  • Identify opportunities to automate and optimize security operations
  • Design, build, and automate security capabilities, owning tooling and detection end to end
  • Improve Splunk, cloud security controls, and incident response capabilities through codified, tested, automated, and measurable engineering practices

Requirements:

  • Experience in cybersecurity roles
  • Understanding of networking protocols, security technologies, operating systems, and risk management principles
  • Experience with security incident response and incident mitigation
  • Knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, DLP, endpoint protection, and vulnerability assessment tools
  • Strong understanding of networking, security technologies, operating systems, and programming
  • Ability to use security tools to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats
  • Ability to assess complex systems, identify vulnerabilities, evaluate risks, and recommend security solutions
  • Ability to investigate security incidents and troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to review logs, alerts, and system configurations for security risks
  • Understanding of relevant regulations, security standards, and best practices
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects
