Job Description

Data Analyst helping Sezzle improve interest-free installment payments through scalable analytics. Building SQL/Python analyses, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows for cross-functional business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities, measure performance, and improve operational efficiency
  • Work closely with business teams to understand priorities and analytics needs
  • Create sophisticated analyses and reporting at scale to support strategic initiatives and data-informed decision-making
  • Visualize and articulate analytics results so stakeholders can interpret them and take action
  • Help stakeholders identify new opportunities through data analysis
  • Create, monitor, review, and analyze reports and dashboards
  • Fix reporting and dashboard issues and conduct root cause analyses
  • Use AI tools, including LLMs, copilots, and workflow automation platforms, to improve analytical productivity and develop scalable business solutions
  • Write SQL queries, develop dashboards, perform exploratory analyses, and contribute Python-based analytics workflows

Requirements:

  • Degree in statistics, math, actuarial science, economics, data science, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Master’s degree or 3+ years of professional experience working with data, including complex dataset creation, reporting, profiling, and machine learning
  • Expert in SQL for data extraction and actionable dataset creation
  • Experience with Python for data processing and analytics
  • Ability to complete analyses with minimal guidance
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Redash, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
  • Ability to make impactful decisions in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment and pivot quickly to new priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong business judgment and communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Preferred: graduate degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Preferred: experience optimizing operational and financial performance
  • Preferred: experience in payments, financial services, banking, fintech, or BNPL
  • Experience with Redshift and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with dbt
  • Experience with AWS, G Suite, and Mac
  • Familiarity with coding agents such as Claude and ChatGPT
  • Successful completion of a Wonderlic test, coding assessment, recruiter interviews, verbal case study interview, and verbal behavioral interview as part of the interview process
