Job Description
Insights Intern supporting Assurant's Data Analytics strategies and communicating insights to stakeholders. Gaining experience in data analysis techniques and tools relevant for future roles.
Responsibilities:
- Create Value Through Data: Produce clear, insightful, understandable work products (visualizations, reports, presentations, etc.) to outline business opportunities and actionable recommendations
- Transform data into insights by leveraging internal and external tools to identify and quantify opportunities
- Build studies that add substantial value to the decision-making process through proactive data analysis, reporting, and research
- Analyze existing solutions and optimize them based on the latest best practices, tools, techniques, and policies
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements, execute fast, and ensure the right training and hand-over effort to the stakeholders
- Communicate Insights: Present analysis and resulting recommendations to senior management and/or clients
- Leverage data to present compelling business cases to optimize investments and operations
- Communicate and educate both technical and non-technical employees on analytics and data-driven decision making
- Support Data Strategies: Design, build, and deliver on our Data as a Product initiatives across the enterprise
- Participate and drive data modeling and governance best practices
- Provide rapid corrective response and action to resolve disruptive incidents
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2nd year completed and currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Management, Information Systems or related program of study
- Master’s degree candidates are preferred
- 2 years of strong SQL, Excel, SSRS, Power BI, and PowerPoint experience
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
- Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

- Ability to quickly learn new applications
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding ability to quickly provide sound decisions and perform tasks with less than complete information
