Job Description

Data Architect serving as a strategic bridge between Data & Analytics and Engineering teams at Coterie. Ensuring alignment and best practices in data architecture standards within insurance tech.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the architectural bridge between DnA and Engineering departments
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists and software engineers
  • Establish and enforce data architecture standards, best practices and design patterns across the organization
  • Ensure data models meet requirements for governance, security, privacy, reliability and performance
  • Support data governance initiatives, including data quality, lineage, metadata management and regulatory compliance
  • Own OLTP domain modeling and schema design
  • Create and maintain a domain map and canonical model, clarifying boundaries between services/domains

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related quantitative field
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, software development or related roles
  • Demonstrated experience working in regulated industries such as insurance (preferred), banking or financial services
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Proficiency in multiple scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across DnA and Engineering teams, balancing analytical requirements with engineering constraints
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience designing and supporting cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure or GCP)
