Job Description

Data Scientist supporting Guidehealth’s value-based healthcare operations through clinical data analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling. Translating healthcare data into actionable insights for Clinical, Quality, and CDI teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Clinical, Quality, and CDI teams to understand operational goals and identify opportunities for data science support
  • Perform statistical and machine learning analyses of clinical, claims, and other healthcare data
  • Apply causal inference, predictive modeling, risk stratification, time-series analysis, and data visualization
  • Apply clinical intelligence and relevant literature to validate cohort definitions, code sets, and model features
  • Develop and maintain SQL and Python code for replicable analyses and production data pipelines
  • Communicate analytic results through visualizations, presentations, and written summaries
  • Perform scripted and manual data QA and validation checks for format, completeness, and accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience applying data science, statistics, or advanced analytics to healthcare data
  • Working knowledge of clinical workflows and terminology
  • Familiarity with clinical vocabularies and coding systems including CPT, ICD-10-CM, SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC, and NPI
  • Understanding of healthcare operations including care management, risk adjustment, quality improvement, revenue cycle, prior authorization, and value-based care
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Working knowledge of Bash
  • Applied statistics knowledge including hypothesis testing, regression, model evaluation, and causal inference
  • Experience with data integration and ETL, data normalization, SFTP, and API connections
  • Experience using Git-based source control such as GitHub throughout a software development lifecycle
  • Experience with data QA and validation processes
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for clinical and technical audiences
  • Preferred: advanced degree or clinical licensure combined with formal data science training
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a clinical care, clinical informatics, or CDI setting, or degree, licensure, or certification in a related clinical field
  • Preferred: AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and Step Functions
  • Preferred: Arcadia Analytics Foundry database
  • Preferred: Jira and Confluence
