Job Description

Direct Support Professional providing ASL-enabled in-home and community care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Supporting routines, independence, emotional regulation, and community access in Beaverton.

Responsibilities:

  • Support daily living routines, including meals, hygiene, and organization
  • Assist with community access, shopping, errands, and outings
  • Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches
  • Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations
  • Assist with household upkeep and organization
  • Encourage independence and personal responsibility
  • Communicate updates with care teams
  • Complete required documentation
  • Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment
  • Provide one-on-one in-home and community-based support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Current auto insurance meeting state requirements
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs
  • Must be fluent in American Sign Language
  • Preferred: experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles
  • Preferred: experience supporting individuals with I/DD
  • Preferred: strong communication and boundary-setting skills
  • Preferred: CPR/First Aid certification
