Job Description
Direct Support Professional providing ASL-enabled in-home and community care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Supporting routines, independence, emotional regulation, and community access in Beaverton.
Responsibilities:
- Support daily living routines, including meals, hygiene, and organization
- Assist with community access, shopping, errands, and outings
- Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches
- Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations
- Assist with household upkeep and organization
- Encourage independence and personal responsibility
- Communicate updates with care teams
- Complete required documentation
- Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment
- Provide one-on-one in-home and community-based support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance meeting state requirements
- Ability to pass a background check
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs
- Must be fluent in American Sign Language
- Preferred: experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles
- Preferred: experience supporting individuals with I/DD
- Preferred: strong communication and boundary-setting skills
- Preferred: CPR/First Aid certification
