Job Description
Ford Credit director leading secure GCP, Kubernetes, and AI infrastructure operations. Driving resilience, security, automation, cost efficiency, and technical team development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership and support for applications running on Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Maintain and evolve knowledge of GCP services, networking constructs, and secure architecture patterns
- Guide teams in designing and implementing secure GCP solutions
- Lead High Availability and Disaster Recovery infrastructure design and implementation across Google Cloud and Ford data centers
- Apply LLM, RAG, MCP, and Agentic AI concepts to improve IT processes and drive automation
- Promote secure use of AI-powered IDEs such as Cursor and Claude within engineering teams
- Design and execute secure, production-grade solutions using Google AI services
- Partner with security engineering to implement controls protecting AI architectures and agents
- Embed SAST, SCA, IaC, DAST, and API security testing into delivery pipelines
- Ensure cloud, container, and AI solutions meet security, risk, and compliance standards
- Reduce infrastructure and AI token/consumption costs
- Develop and present operational, financial, and productivity metrics and dashboards
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, architecture, vendor, and enterprise technology teams
- Mentor technical talent and serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
- Represent Ford Credit's cloud and AI infrastructure strategy in leadership forums
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Typically 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure/platform engineering
- Substantial hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Experience operating and supporting applications on Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
- Experience designing and implementing secure cloud architectures, including GCP networking, IAM, and security controls
- Experience designing and implementing HA/DR solutions across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
- Working knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure concepts including LLM, RAG, MCP, and Agentic AI
- Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code
- Working knowledge of Google AI/ML platform services including Gemini Enterprise, Vertex AI Search, Feature Store, and AI Runtime
- Understanding of AI security concerns including prompt injection, data leakage, and model/agent access control
- Working knowledge of SAST, SCA, IaC, DAST, and API security scanning tools/practices
- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience
- Ability to build business cases and present cost/benefit metrics to senior leadership
- Leadership, communication, and people-management skills; experience leading technical teams
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Preferred: Google Cloud certifications; Kubernetes/OpenShift certifications; financial services or regulated-industry experience; FinOps/cost optimization; DevSecOps and CI/CD security scanning experience
