Job Description

Director expanding pharmaceutical and healthcare partnerships for Direct Relief’s global medical relief programs. Managing corporate relationships, donations, fundraising, and engagement strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Engagement VP and Direct Relief leadership to develop or implement strategy for securing medical product donations globally
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate healthcare company relationships supporting Direct Relief’s programs and activities
  • Manage assigned Corporate Engagement staff, including team members based in the US and overseas
  • Research healthcare companies’ ESG/CSR strategies and therapeutic focus areas to identify mission-aligned opportunities
  • Support the conception, development, and pitching of programmatic ideas and targeted requests
  • Provide insight and context on issues affecting Direct Relief’s ability to secure resources
  • Identify and contact prospective corporate partners; arrange introductory calls and meetings; present Direct Relief’s capabilities and relationships; manage correspondence and relationship development
  • Conduct substantive in-person meetings with leading healthcare companies to brief them on Direct Relief, review support, assess impact, and discuss growth opportunities
  • Represent Direct Relief at industry conferences, forums, and meetings
  • Help implement donor communications highlighting healthcare companies in coordination with Communications staff
  • Coordinate and occasionally lead healthcare company donor site visits and help capture donation impact
  • Collaborate with Programs, Emergency Response, Pharmacy, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Communications, and other teams
  • Collaborate on healthcare company fundraising goals and support implementation to secure contributions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multifunctional team
  • Ability to work and interact with multiple senior-level external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple competing interests/tasks and prioritize accordingly
  • Cross-cultural leadership ability with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking and representing Direct Relief in public settings
  • Ability to command the confidence and respect of an audience
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and task orientation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP or Salesforce a plus
  • Experience in report generation and analysis of outcomes
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to travel via automobile, train, or airplane at a moment’s notice
  • Must pass (clear) toxicology screening
